I . The available extract of Pei Mu can urge blood vessels releasing nitric oxide to reach relax vessels and reduce risk of hypertension(15,17).

Bulb of Fritillaria cirrhosa is an important traditional Chinese herbal medicine. The presence of these active substances may be responsible, at least in part, for the antihypertensive action of the bulbs of Fritillaria ussuriensis. (2). Bulbus Fritillaria extracts have a hypotensive effect in rats via the inhibition of ACE activity and direct release of NO/cGMP in the vascular tissue(6).

II .It inhibits immoral white blood cells proliferating.

The inducer of differentiation of human promyelocytic leukemia HL-60 cells is commonly accepted to have potential therapeutic importance. Verticinone, one of the major isosteroidal alkaloids from the bulbus of Fritillaria ussuriensis, was found to inhibit the growth of HL-60 cells by inducing these cells to differentiate toward granulocytes. Importantly, the combination of verticinone with all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), a well-known inducer of HL-60 cells into granulocytic lineages, was more effective than either alone, suggesting its therapeutic usein minimizing the effective dose of ATRA(4).

III .It resolves phlegm and arrest cough(15,17).

Attention:

I .It is incompatible with Rhizoma Aconiti (Wu Tou).

II .It is contraindicated for loose stool due to spleen deficiency and phlegm of dampness and cold types.
